A careful evaluation of company information in financials, footnotes, regulatory filings, management disclosures, competitors, suppliers, customers, news, and share price become part of an informed decision on buying or selling a stock. This, hopefully, leads to superior performance for a portfolio. The information choices for a quant analyst that uses numbers and databases, however, have been fewer and just limited to a handful of vendors.
